Every day or every week, there’s another AI breakthrough, another prediction about the future of work, another list of tools we’re all supposed to master.

BUT there are so many stories beyond the headlines!

It’s what all of this is doing to the people trying to build meaningful careers.

For some reason, I’ve always been amazed by the questions that don’t have easy answers. This is a common discussion between my Engineer Dad and his daughter with a Communications Degree. How do we stay valuable when AI becomes a coworker? What happens to creativity when anyone can generate content? How do we keep learning without becoming overwhelmed? How do we build careers, businesses, and identities in a world that’s changing faster than most of us can process?

Those are the conversations I want to have here.

The AI Work Journal is a place for observations, experiments, and honest reflections on work in the age of AI. A space to think and feel out loud about the transformations we’re experiencing and are yet to come.

Sometimes I’ll write about building AI workflows or creating Claude Skills as someone without a technical background.

Sometimes I’ll share what I’m creating, where I got stuck, and what surprised me along the way.

Other times, I’ll step back and explore what these changes mean for professionals, creators, and anyone trying to find their place in this new landscape.

I don’t believe the future belongs only to engineers or AI experts.

I think it also belongs to curious people who are willing to keep learning, asking better questions, and sharing what they discover along the way.

About Me

I’m Isa Martínez, a writer, marketer, strategist, and increasingly, an AI builder.

I’ve spent more than a decade working across marketing, communications, content, email, and lifecycle marketing. My background isn’t technical—I studied communications, and my career has always revolved around words, ideas, strategy, and understanding people.

I jumped into ChatGPT early, and today I use ChatGPT and Claude Cowork almost every day to work, experiment, and build custom assistants, Skills, and tools I never imagined I could create without knowing how to code.

At the same time, I’m navigating the same questions many professionals are facing:

How do we keep our skills relevant?

What happens to our professional identities as AI changes our work?

And what becomes possible for us that wasn’t possible before?
